Villarreal CF fans always look forward to their games against Valencia. The stadium is full of cheers and loud noises so it feels like a home game for them even though they are playing in front of many thousands of people at El Madrigal Stadium!
The club's colors are yellow and blue. Nicknamed "Submarino amarillo" (Yellow Submarine) because of their jersey, also known as "the sub" by fans, the team's mascot Groguet transforms into this character when he takes on a new shape: one with an underwater helmet that spins on its sides like propellers to make it look like what you would expect from someone who lives or works near water all day...Player Raul Garcia Aguirre uses both.
In the 2005/06 season they might fail to reach the semi-finals of Europe's premier club competition, but it wasn't all for nothing. The 2003/04 and 2010 seasons saw two other notable victories - a 1-0 defeat by FC Valencia and a 3-2 win over FC Porto where a goalkeeping error by Kurt Zouma saved the day!
