Why should you stream on TuneIn Radio?
the wide variety of content, the high-quality audio and the way that TuneIn caters to listeners.
If you're looking for a way to keep up with your favourite genres or catch up with current events, then streaming on TuneIn is a great option. With a wide variety of content to choose from, as well as top quality audio, TuneIn makes sure that its listeners always have something to listen to. Plus, it's easy to use and perfect for listeners who want convenience and quality all in one place.
Massive Content Library
TuneIn Radio provides access to a large number of live radio stations. This number is growing with every passing quarter, and there's a wide variety of content to be found on TuneIn Radio streams, from news to sports, movies to music, and even podcasts. It has a diverse range of content - from local podcasts to internationally acclaimed series - that appeals to millions of active users each month.
Diversified plans
There are only two plans available when I talk about plans: free and premium. The reason why the premium plan is more expensive than the free plan is because it offers added access, such as live NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL games that are unavailable on the free network. Additionally, if you choose the premium plan, you will not experience any advertisements on your music streaming service.
Easy access to stations
Getting to listen to your favorite podcasts on TuneIn Radio is easy. You can stream them or add them to your favorites. There are many ways to find stations you are interested in, using the categories tab or the search bar.
Intuitive website & app
The website for TuneIn Radio is really cool. You don't have to create an account to browse through it, so it's easy to get used to the interface right away. The colors and layout are perfect, making it easy for people to find what they're looking for.
The TuneIn radio app has a great feature where there are no popups or pre-roll advertisements. This means that there is no interruption to the music when using the app.
Unhindered user experience
In total, TuneIn generates over $75 per user per month.
TuneIn does an excellent job of generating income without undermining the user experience. It generates income by using Google-powered display ads and pre-roll audio ads which it runs before the streams. Another method through which it generates income is through its subscription tier - which although under criticism has a large following. In total, TuneIn generates over $75 per user per month.
Design
TuneIn Radio website's interface is intuitive and convenient. It clicks with you and you want to stay on the website. The light color banners and a minimal theme across the website feel truly premium. Right from the header section to the footer, there's a design synergy that keeps it all together.
Header
The Listen Now button is highlighted and stands out on the left side of the website's header. There are seven options along the left side: Sports, Music, News, Podcasts, Premium, and Download App. The right side of the website has a Sign In and Sign Up option. The header has a red background with dark blue text.
Hero Section
The website's Hero Section features banners with creative text on the left. For example, the red banner is dedicated to journalism which indicates news radio networks, and when that slides to the left, on comes the blue banner which highlights NBA and sports radio networks. The playful colors and creative text make this website one of my favorite streaming websites.
Body
The website's body section features a search bar as you scroll down. You'll see a text area with "Listen Now?" CTA followed by Premium CTA. Once past that, the website's favorite section is the intuitive categories. These are so brilliantly done that you really feel like stopping and checking out the design. The work is so minimal yet so effective because of the seamless transition between categories - live sports, music, news, podcasts.
Inner pages
The pages within the website can be accessed by clicking on one of the options on the home page. For instance, if you click on the sports category, you will be directed to a dedicated sports page. I love how the menus become vertical so that you can still access them when needed. Upon visiting the sports page, you will find options such as Home, Premium, Local Radio, Recents, Trending, News, Talk, and Podcasts. On the right-hand side of the page are viewing categories such as Top Sports Events, Schedule, Weekly Top Sports Podcasts, Top Sports talk stations, Top College Football Podcasts and Top NBA, NFL and MLB podcasts. Isn't that everything you look for in a design?
Content Search
There are many ways to find content on this streaming site. One way is to use a search bar. If you don't know what you want to watch, you can rely on TuneIn's recommendation. Another way to find content is through using the sort feature which allows you to choose ?By Location? and ?By Language?. Thus, if you want to hear a podcast in a specific language from a specific region, you can choose the location and language to get started.
Content
There are lots of radio stations to choose from on this platform- international and local, music, news, podcasts, sports, etc. You can see the different networks and stations without any ads or with ads that have pre-rolls. However, if you have a premium account you can get access to commentaries from some of the top leagues in the world like MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL, EPL, and Bundesliga as well as over 40k audiobooks with no commercials! Plus there are tons of original podcasts to choose from in any time slot you want.
Desktop/Mobile experience
I really enjoy browsing this website from my desktop. It's a seamless experience and it allows me to stream the best content with utmost convenience. If streaming on the desktop is not something you love, you should try it on your mobile phone via the app. The app is just as good as the desktop version and can sync pretty well, so you can tune in wherever you go.
There are no ads in the app, which is great because it's a user-friendly experience. You can customize your experience by selecting which channels you want to see, and the album art for the current song (which is a lot of data) looks great. Plus, social media sharing is easy with Facebook, Twitter, and Email support.
Lastly, I would urge you to try the premium version because it adds DVR-like capabilities to your service. You can actually pause, play, rewind and even record the live radio streams. All your recordings are saved in a particular section so you can access them later.
Plans & Pricing
There's just one plan available on TuneIn Radio, and that's the Premium account. You can go premium by paying $9.99/month or $99.99/year. With a premium account, you get access to exclusive sports content, commercial-free music and DVR like capabilities such as stream recording, play, pause, and rewind features.
Suggestions I have for TuneIn Radio
Though I loved TuneIn Radio and all the content on the platform, I wasn't impressed with the streaming quality on the premium stations. I mean 64kbps AAC and 128 kbps MP3 isn't something you'd accept if you pay $9.99/month. These aren't an acceptable bitrate in today's time and that's evident as the high-end distorts a lot when listening via headphones or loudspeakers. Thus, this is something I would like the developers to fix.
Conclusion
Apart from a few small glitches, there's no arguing that TuneIn Radio is an amazing service. It's one of the best streaming radio apps available, and it offers great content both locally and nationally. You can trust TuneIn for quality programming
