I don't really like the design of Tamilarasan. In fact, it's not even that great. I don't think it offers the worst site design that I have ever seen, but it's not anything special either. There are other sites that didn't make it onto this list of the best free movie streaming sites that have worse builds. In fact, this site doesn't even have enough going on to really make a laundry list of things to dislike.
However, I find the lack of interactivity on this site to be the main problem. There is nothing dynamic or professional about it; it's just a basic streaming site.
It's strange because I usually like minimalist site designs, and I think that Tamilarasan does a great job of using negative space and having a pared-down vibe. However, the impression that this site gives me is of somebody who is inexperienced or careless with their coding. I'll take you through the site so that you can see for yourself what I'm talking about.
As soon as you land on the homepage, you might be tempted to say, "huh, is this really it?" Beneath the site menu bar at the top of the page is a site navigation that's not incredibly helpful from a site navigation standpoint. Below that is a gallery of 10 or 12 thumbnails. Keep scrolling down and, woops, you're at the bottom of the page. This is essentially the entire site, which (barely) asserts itself in 147 pages of the same underwhelming layout.
Secondly, there are only six options in the site menu bar, when there are dozens of Tamil movies and TV series available on the site. This leaves a lot of potential visitors without easy access to some of the most popular content on the website. Finally, many of the Tamil movies and TV series offered on the site are not in High Definition or Dubbed, limiting their appeal to movie buffs and language learners alike.

First of all, why would a free movie streaming website put all of its most popular content in a menu bar that's hidden away at the bottom of the screen? A more competent website builder would have made this content more visible and easily accessible from anywhere on the site. Secondly, there are only six options in the menu bar when there are dozens of movies and TV series available on the website. This makes it difficult for many visitors to find what they're looking for and leaves them frustrated. Finally, many of the movies and TV series offered on this website are not in high definition or dubbed â limiting their appeal to movie buffs and language learners alike.
Secondly, how is it possible to browse through Tamilarasan by genre, by year, or any other useful category? Sure, it is nice that you can browse by language (out of the 2 available, Tamil and Hindi), and that you can browse by New movies, overdubbed movies, and HD only? But wasn't there supposed to be a more streamlined or synergistic way to go about this?
Most free movie streaming sites would have built these distinctions into the layout of the site itself. There would have been a section designated to New movies, one to HD movies, and so on. Ideally, each of these sections would have had a side-scrolling mechanism for easy and intuitive browsing. However, Tamilarasan is little more than 140+ pages, each of which offers a smattering of free movies. This makes it difficult to find what you're looking for and makes the site feel overwhelming.
I guess there is something to be said about the simplicity of this site. It is straightforward, I'll give it that. If you like a site that simply lets you stream free movies (and nothing else) then perhaps you will be a fan of Tamilarasan's design. Hey, to each his own!

We're continuing our evaluation of the site's content and features. First, we'll look at the site's offerings: there are some great movies and TV series available to stream for free here. Although the library size is a bit disappointing, it's still a great place to watch content.
As of the time of this review, Tamilarasan offers a total of 1,764 free movies and TV shows. This is considerably more than any other comparable site, which often only offers a few hundred free movies or TV shows.
This is not the site for people who like to have many user features at their disposal either. In fact, this is not the site for people who enjoy having any user features at their disposal. Outside of being able to stream free movies and TV shows, Tamilarasan has nothing to offer - no comments, no ratings, no nothing.
That being said, I do have something positive to say about Tamilarasan. It is, if nothing else, one of the most reliable free movie streaming sites that I have ever seen. Whereas many similar sites can be inconsistent to a fault (low-quality streams, slow buffer times, hit or miss servers, etc.), Tamilarasan seems to offer thousands of free movies and TV shows that are of decent quality, which play and buffer quickly every single time. Believe it or not, this is a rare commodity of free streaming sites these days.
Mobile and Desktop Experience
There is no mobile app of this site, which is not surprising to anyone familiar with free movie streaming sites. That being said, the site is optimized perfectly for mobile devices. Everything on the site automatically resizes to best fit a phone or tablet screen, offering a great mobile experience.
I think that the mobile version of this site almost redeems the terrible desktop site design. I would go as far as to say that, if anything, Tamilarasan could have what it takes to be one of the best free movie streaming sites for mobile devices, even if the desktop experience is rather lackluster.
And did I mention that there are a moderate number of ads for a free movie streaming site on Tamilarasan? I've seen similar sites with many more ads, for sure, but I've also reviewed plenty of free movie streaming sites with significantly fewer. Nevertheless, the good news is that a decent ad blocker takes care of the bulk of them. If I could give advice to the owners of Tamilarasan, it would be this: please, please, redesign your site from the ground up. It's hard enough competing in a saturated streaming market; if you offer an outdated and basic user experience in 2021, you'll lose to the competition.
