streamz.be
Since the streaming giants like Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video proved that streaming was indeed the new mainstream way to consume media, everybody and their uncle have jumped on board with as movie streaming site of their own hoping to get a slice of those sweet, sweet profits.
I spend my days testing, evaluating, and analyzing every movie streaming site that I can find. I only review the best movie streaming sites, the ones that are worth knowing about.
net.
I have found another site that deserves to be listed alongside the best movie streaming sites of all time. Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to Streamz.net.
Some people refer to Streamz as the "Flemish Netflix" because it's only been around for a few months, but it's made a big impact in Belgium. Apparently, it's really good so far, so I'm sure everyone will love it!
From what I can tell, Streamz definitely deserves this distinction. Streamz offers a large library filled with a versatile blend of movies and TV series. Streamz offers both critically acclaimed international titles from the US, as well as plenty of your favorite Flemish and Dutch movies and shows. Combine this with an incredibly user-friendly and intuitive interface, plenty of awesome user features, cross-platform compatibility (mobile, desktop, and smart TVs), and an ads-free premium movie streaming experience, and you have the recipe for one of the best movie streaming sites on the web today.
History
Streamz, a new company that operates entirely online, took over for Play, which is owned and operated by Telenet. This is great news because Telenet can be frustratingly monolithic in Belgium. It's always nice to see competition rise up and challenge their services.
Although Streamz has grown to be known as the Flemish Netflix, they weren't the first to coin this term. In fact, DPG Media was the first to suggest that there should be a Flemish Netflix.
Netflix recently announced that they will be starting a new service called "Streamz" which will offer their licensed content to the public. This is in response to the rise in popularity of the Flemish original series known as "Streamz." VTM, the biggest cable TV channel in Belgium, agreed to contribute content to Streamz, offering their licensed content for free.
In 2020, Telenet decided to also join the Streamz partnership. This was a big deal because Telenet brought the channels VIER, ZES, VIJF, as well as Woestijnvis, the production house. Plus, Telenet's own movie streaming service Play More would bring syndicated productions from HBO - a huge win for the Streamz content library.
Streams officially announced its name on Aug. 12, 2020. Shortly thereafter, the next major piece of the Streamz puzzle fell into place.
On September 3, 2020, the VRT (the Dutch broadcasting authority) made an official announcement that they would be participating with Streamz. Many critics of Streamz had assumed that, without access to the VRT's extensive catalog of older programs, Streamz would not have been a viable streaming platform. It has been reported that the VRT came under immense pressure from the Flemish government to cooperate. They did so gladly; however, the VRT did indicate that their primary concern would be their own streaming platform, VRT NU.
Streamz landed some big deals with international studios, such as Paramount, HBO, Sony, CBS, and Universal. This could lead to a wealth of content on the site, as the potential for content is seemingly endless.
For Telenet Play More subscribers, the start of Streamz on September 14, 2020 meant that their subscriptions would be converted. This was huge for Streamz, as it meant that the fledgling streaming service would not have to start from scratch. Instead, Streamz automatically took on a whopping head start of more than 431,000 built-in subscribers who had been transferred over from Play More.
Design
This site is sleek, intuitive, and user-friendly. It's responsive, dynamic, and easy to use. In fact, the nickname "Flemish Netflix" is definitely echoed in the site's design and layout.
This site looks instantly familiar to anybody who has used a major movie streaming service before. It offers nothing revolutionary in that regard, but the design is effective- a series of side-scrolling horizontal menus separated by category. It's familiar, sure, but it works well.
Content and Features
Streamz is a great movie streaming site in Belgium. There are a lot of high quality movies and TV series available to watch on Streamz. Whether you are interested in American dramas or Belgian comedies, Streamz has them all.
One of the noteworthy features of Streamz content is its access to an impressive list of HBO originals, including Euphoria, Batwoman, Game of Thrones, Sharp Objects, Watchmen, the Undoing, and His Dark Materials. While it's not access to the entire HBO catalog, it may be enough to keep you from indulging in an HBO Max membership for now.
If you're a Streamz member, you can access plenty of original movies and series, as well as exclusive content from Telenet that was previously unavailable. Plus, if you upgrade your account to Streamz Plus, you'll be able to access blockbuster smash hits that are rarely available on other movie streaming sites. We'll cover pricing and plans in more detail when we discuss them.
As far as features go, Streamz offers the full premium streaming experience. You can download movies and TV shows to your phone or tablet in order to watch them later without an internet or mobile connection. And you can create up to 5 personalized profiles, as well as enjoy 5 simultaneous streams. Anything Netflix can do, Flemish Netflix can, too.
Mobile and Desktop Experience
I love that Streamz is so cross-platform compatible. Not only does this movie streaming site offer an excellent desktop and mobile web browser experience, but there are also equally exquisite apps for just about every device out there. Whether you're streaming movies on your iOS or Android mobile device, ChromeCast, Apple TV, Android TV, LG Smart TV, Samsung Smart TV, or Telenet TV, Streamz offers a user-friendly and intuitive app.
I'm not thrilled that there's no Roku app available for Streamz, but overall I really like the service. It's a little frustrating that there isn't a Roku app available, but I know that this is a minor complaint in the big picture.
Pricings and Plans
1) A more affordable monthly subscription that includes ad-supported viewing.
2) A more expensive but ad-free monthly subscription.
-Are you interested in subscribing to our streaming service for ?11.95/month, or ?119.45/year? This will save you 2 months of payments.
-If you're interested in continuing your streaming service, you can sign up for a ?19.95/month or ?199.45/year subscription plan, which provides two months of uninterrupted streaming service.
So, you're probably wondering, what's the big difference between Streamz and Streamz Plus? Well, the answer might be slightly underwhelming. With Streamz Plus, you get access to additional content, including recent blockbusters. Maybe this is worth paying nearly twice as much for your monthly membership (especially if you find yourself renting new movies or going to the theater frequently). Personally, though, I was expecting there to be more features than that for such a price difference.
