SportLemon Free Review: How can I watch for free? (Updated 2022)

Sportlemons.com is an outdated sports content directory with no sports events. The fixture list is updated regularly, but there's no content on the website. So you can't possibly watch a match on this platform or through the link that it offers. Furthermore, when you try to access the streams via the link, it just keeps redirecting you to gaming, dating or a gambling site.

Some people prefer free sports streaming sites with user-friendly interfaces that provide quality links. However, we are reviewing a site that has no substance and is only style. Sportlemon is one of the worst free sports streaming sites out there.

What is Sportlemon?

Sportlemon used to provide comprehensive sports coverage, but now there are dozens of competing sites that use the same old design. When you try to access the content, all of them redirect you to unrelated websites. Thus, I have no reason to recommend you use this website for streaming but I have faith that the developers will sort out the problems and restore this streaming site with a great history. With a ray of hope, here are a few reasons why you might or might not want to stream Sportlemon.

Why should you stream on Sportlemon?

Sportlemon has a large cult following due to its reputation in the sports streaming industry. You'll find dozens of threads about the glory days of Sportlemon here on reddit. Apart from its legacy, Sportlemon did a great job of providing a variety of content to its audience. Users were able to watch sports such as Football, Basketball, Baseball, and American Football without any hassle.

Free Streaming

Sportlemon has always been a free site for its users. All the content on the website can be streamed for free, without having to create an account or pay for memberships.

Decent User-interface

It's funny that many other free streaming sites have adopted the layout first introduced on Sportlemon. For instance, fromHOT?s is not related to Sportlemon but it borrows the design and the layout from Sportlemon. The reason why even new developers like it is that it's highly intuitive. It looks simple and allows the content to be placed in an appealing manner. I?d like to share some reasons why you might want to stop streaming on Sportlemon.

Why you shouldn?t stream on Sportlemon?

As a user on a popular forum thread, I read an extremely angry post from an individual stating that they are constantly being redirected to dating apps on their Play Store and that there is little to no actual streaming content on the website. The user seems very concerned and I found similar tones expressed by other forum users across various platforms.

No streaming content

I used to love Sportlemon, but now it's just a mess. When I visit the website, all of the updates are there, but when I try to watch any content, I get redirected to other websites. There's no page with regular streaming content so if I click on anything on the homepage, I'm taken to a new third-party site.

Dangerous for new users

Some people who haven't been using streaming services for a while and are just starting to test the waters might lose a lot of money on this website. That's because there are ads, malware, and pop-ups on this website. For instance, a few weeks ago I got an email from a user who said he was persuaded to upgrade his Flash player for $18 because it was outdated. Now, experienced streamers might be laughing at this but imagine a new streamer, who had their initial experience with streaming turned out to be spam. They would no longer trust any free streaming site again!

How to access Sportlemon?

Although I don't recommend you checking this website, if you're interested in trying it out, just make sure that your VPN and ad blocker are enabled.

Design

Regardless of how much I may criticize Sportlemon, I must give credit where credit is due. In terms of designing, Sportlemon has been a pioneer. The use of contrasting blue colors - Air Force Blue and Powder Blue - that we see today was first introduced on this website. The alternate white background in fixtures along with the effective use of symbols to indicate sports were introduced 7-8 years ago.

Header

In the header section of Sportlemon, you'll find a variety of sports and activities. There are ten main categories - Home, Football, Hockey, Tennis, Basketball, Baseball, American Football, Boxing, MotoGP and Other. The header has a gradient background made up of black and white that helps the white text to stand out.

Hero Section

I like the hero section on this website because it is devoid of intrusive ad banners. You can tell that this website is legitimate by the list of ongoing fixtures and the upcoming ones. However, when you try to click on a fixture, you realize that it doesn't have any substance.

Body

This website's body section has an introductory note that hardly makes any sense.

Footer

The footer section on the website has privacy and DMCA options which are better than what we saw on fromHOT?s. However, there are no standout navigation options which is quite a turn-off.

Inner Pages

I couldn't find any inner pages on Sportlemon. The website just redirects you to a third-party website. I'm not sure if this can even be called a sports directory.

Content

Looking at the fixtures related to football, hockey, tennis, basketball, baseball, boxing, and MotoGP you can see that there are no actual streaming links or content that work.

Desktop/Mobile experience

I browsed the website on my HP 15 laptop and didn't even bother to check it on my mobile phone. I wanted to watch an EPL match recently and thus I tuned into Spotlemon only to find that apart from redirects, there's nothing much on this website. Thus, without wasting any time, I saw the Watford vs Liverpool fixture on Stream2Watch. My recent experience with this website was quite short-lived.

Suggestions I have for Sportlemon

I would love to see the website restored back to its former glory. It was a great website in the past where I've watched numerous football and tennis matches. I would like the developers to turn this passive project into an active one by adding quality links that can actually allow the viewers to watch content.

Conclusion

Sportlemon isn't as great as it used to be, so I wouldn't recommend you checking it out. However, if the streaming gods are listening, they might as well fix everything that's wrong with it.
