RasenBallsport Leipzig eV, commonly known as RB Leipzig or simply "RB", is a German football club based in the city of Leipzig. The first team plays in the second German league and has ambitions to reach a higher level in European competition soon! With professional management the club will continue to rise up the table so keep your eyes peeled for this rising sporting power that could be coming sooner than you think!!

The name "RasenBallsport" was chosen for several reasons. One of them is that according to the DFB statutes it is not allowed to use this term as an advertising medium. The choice also alludes to the sport of lawn tennis and that most people know Redbull from the logo; with its abbreviation RBG (for Rasenball GmbH). A few years ago when they first got promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga, we became partners with them with 99% shares each - now they outsource most of the professional department but also keep the youth coaches!

For the first time since 2009, Leipzig has been promoted to the highest German division as runners-up in the respective league. The 55th team in the history of the Bundesliga and the youngest signing from East Germany!
