With the rise of streaming, many people are finding that they are not satisfied with their current cord cutting options. This has caused the cost of these services to equal what people pay for cable, and there is a growing feeling among users that these services are not as good as they once were. Additionally, nine of the most popular streaming services that cost approximately $90/month do not even include sports, which is a big reason why users have lost faith in them.
Below is a table that will help you to realize that premium streaming services aren't destroying cable or satellite networks, but are taking a similar shape when clustered.
The monthly streaming service base price is $5.99.
/month
HBO MAX is a great value at only $14.99/month!
/month
Netflix is a monthly service that costs $12.99.
I just bought a new Hulu account. It's really affordable!
for one month
Showtime is $10.99 for a month, so it's a great deal!
We're offering CBS for only $9.99 today!
Introducing Prime Video - our new, fast and affordable video streaming service. Watch your favorite movies and TV shows with no ads or restrictions. Try it now!
/month
STARZ is a great value for monthly streaming. It's cheaper than other providers and has lots of great content.
Disney is $6.99 at the store.
/month
Apple TV with access to over 500 channels, including ESPN, AMC and more is only $4.99/month with a 1-year subscription.
I spent $90.91 at the store.
Through the aforementioned table, you can see that the premium prices of these streaming services are not helping your case. Add FuboTV and Playstation Vue to the mix and you're looking upwards of $180/per month. That's bonkers.
Today we're reviewing r/MovieStreamingSites - a community where you'll find free streaming sites from across the globe.
Why do people join r/MovieStreamingsites?
Many movie lovers are not satisfied with how expensive the cost of streaming services are becoming. Sure, everyone would love an ad-free experience, but the total over-lay is getting out of hand. In order to avoid paying a hefty monthly fee, users have started joining r/MovieStreamingSites to receive updates on the best streaming sites around the world where they can watch HD content, with subtitles, without spending a dime. Most of the streaming sites shared on this network have an expanding library with a huge selection of movies and TV shows. All you have to do is bear with the banner ads; small price streamers are ready to pay for high quality streaming.
My recent experience on r/MovieStreamingSites
After that, I saw a post about an upcoming movie, but I wasn't interested so I skipped it. Lastly, I saw a post about a new game that's coming out soon, and I'm definitely going to buy it!
It was just yesterday that I logged on to this subreddit. There were some posts that caught my eye. First, the welcome post where I was required to read about rules and tips before starting my journey on this sub. After that, a post related to streaming sites - StreamAnimeTV 4.0, 123movies, and GoFlix.se. I checked all of these, and they looked like they were working fine according to the OP. Afterwards, I saw a post about an upcoming movie but I wasn't interested so I skipped it. Finally, I saw a post about a new game that's coming out soon and I'm definitely going to buy it!
About r/MovieStreamingSites - Community & Members
There is a great subreddit for movie streaming called r/MovieStreamingSites. You'll find a variety of content, including movies, TV series, anime, and other content. Other than the content itself, you'll find news, updates, and information about what's happening with free streaming platforms. This subreddit was created on March 5th, 2014, and it's already attracted a decent number of users. The community has 53K members, out of which 100-200 are online at any given time.
How to access r/MovieStreamingSites?
If you're not already a Reddit member, you can sign up for an account here: https://www.reddit.com/signup?ref=profile&user_id=0xc9abcd2b&optin=true . Once you have an account, you'll need to confirm your email address. Once you do so, you'll be able to follow subreddits, comment on posts, and even post anything on any of the subreddits.
Moderators of r/MovieStreamingSites
One of the most disappointing things about this subreddit is that there are no moderators. There is only a single moderator - buttermouth, who manages all the proceedings on the page. I personally think this is unsafe because a single person can't test and keep check of everything that's being posted on the sub. Thus, many users will try to take advantage of this situation and post their projects filled with adware and malware, and that's where the entire credibility of the community comes under question. But that's what we do when we decide to dwell on illegal content consumption, which can cost us more than we realize.
Why should you follow r/MovieStreamingSites?
There's no denying that of every ten links that are posted on this subreddit, you'll find six-seven of them working fine. There is content, especially links and news that are posted each day on r/MovieStreamingSites. So, if you're into free streaming and like to watch movies and TV shows for free, you'll find a lot of valuable information on this subreddit. For example, if something happens to VIPBox and it's no longer available, you'll be notified on the sub with a barrage of posts regarding the platform. That happened when Terrarium TV was taken down and will continue to happen in the near future.
Community Engagement
I think it?s always better to keep expectations towards the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to engagement levels in a community like this. The number of people who interact with posts each day is pretty low, so the engagement level is usually pretty low too. Out of 25 posts that I checked today, most of them only had a few upvotes and a few comments. So while it's not great, at least it's not horrible like it could be if more people were interacting.
Navigation
Overall, it seems like a fairly clean and organized sub.
I browsed through this subreddit on a couple of occasions and had no troubles. The menus are easy to navigate, just like any other subreddit. There are basic sorting features - "Hot," "New," and "Top," followed by the actual post. Towards the right, you have details about the community, which is followed by moderator information. Overall, it seems like a fairly clean and organized subreddit.
Important rules you must know before joining r/MovieStreamingSites?
One of the downfalls of this subreddit is that it does not have any rules. I was expecting the moderator to create a framework to prevent spam links from being posted, however, since there are no rules and guidelines on the site, you will naturally have difficulty trusting it. Additionally, before accessing any of the sites, make sure to use a VPN to protect your IP and personal information. As a user who just wants to watch free content, it's better if you do it safely and not go all out, risking your privacy and your data to such platforms who are waiting to prey on you.
Design
I wasn't really sure what to expect from this subreddit, and so I can't say that I'm disappointed. It doesn't have a unique community logo and there's no dedicated cover. I didn't understand how the users were not inclined to help their community stand out. One thing that I noticed was that 80% of the posts are just self-promotions. So basically, the audience is filled with free streaming site owners who are looking to promote their platforms. There's no actual interaction as such on this platform, which is quite disappointing.
