It can be difficult to decide which streaming sites are worth your time and money. Some are beautifully designed, easy to use, and stream content in the highest quality, while others can be ad-ridden, cluttered, clunky, hard to navigate, unreliable, stream grainy or amateur copies of movies and shows, and might pose a threat to your internet security. There are many factors that one needs to take into account before making this decision.
So, what are you waiting for? Start streaming today!
Which is why I have dedicated my time to creating StreamingSites. Here, you won't have to wonder whether a site is worth your time or money. Because I have handpicked only the best of the best streaming sites that the internet has to offer. Sure, even though my list of reviews only features sites worth looking into, though, that doesn't mean that within my list of the top streaming sites there is no variation. So, what are you waiting for? Start streaming today!
Even though I only recommend the best streaming sites, there is still some variation in quality. There are the worst of the best and there are the best of the best. My reviews have eliminated all of the sites that don't even deserve to be mentioned, but you might still find a site that I have recommended is better for what you are looking for in a streaming site.
Which free streaming site is the best for you? The question isn't "which free streaming site is the best?" but "which free streaming site is the best for you?" That's crucial. We all have different preferences.
We all want to watch different kinds of movies and shows on the web. We all like different styles and layouts, so reading through my comprehensive list of reviews of the best free streaming sites will help you understand what you value in a site and which one best fits those needs.
Although there are some general things to look for when conducting your search for a free streaming site, chances are you will want one that offers up the highest number of titles. This is because the more movies and shows a free streaming site has to offer, the more likely you are going to be able to find the specific titles that you are looking for at a given time. The logic checks out, right?
First of all, it's important to consider the quality of the site when looking for a free streaming site. Sites that offer free streaming can be hit or miss with regards to the quality of their content. Unfortunately, many free streaming sites are plagued with ads that are often intrusive and visually unappealing. This can be extremely frustrating for users who are trying to watch a show or movie uninterrupted. There have been reports of people getting viruses, trackers, and trojans from these ads, so it's important to be careful when choosing a free streaming site.
I would never include a site on my list that contains viruses or other malware, but I do have a list of some great VPNs to protect your computer's well-being when you are browsing free streaming sites.
I would also advise everyone to go and find an ad blocker, solid antivirus software, and a VPN. With these three things, you will be as close to impenetrable as possible while browsing the web, no matter what you are doing.
Design
The orientation of the home page, for instance, feels inverted. The member login and sign up box is awkwardly placed on the right-hand side of the page (when it feels much more at home being left-justified). This is also where you will find a few quick links: latest comments, top comments, TV schedule, and some other informational tidbits on how to make the most of the site. I love that Prime Wire is offering a guide, however! In order to help first-timers and novice free movie streamers to find their way around this site, they have provided a guide.
Another complaint I have about Prime Wire is the way in which movie titles are listed. When you click into a title, you'll find information about the movie or show at the top of the page, along with a list of links to the hosted files. Word of warning: Skip the top result, as it's always going to be an ad that will take you to another page that leads you to believe that it has the movie or show if you sign up, although it, in fact, doesn't.
I don't really like this layout. Mostly, it's just because it's more cumbersome than it needs to be. I've seen the free movie and TV streaming sites do it much more streamlined and user-friendly. Some sites, for example, provide one media player box and allow each link to automatically be cycled through without having to scroll through a lengthy list. Others take a sort of Google Images approach and give you a list of search results with thumbnails, which also feels more natural and less clunky.
Maybe this list layout doesn't bug you as much as it bugs me. Personally, I would love to see Prime Wire undergo a serious makeover.
Content
Some titles that come to mind, like The Office and Parks and Recreation, stream in HD, but others, like Vikings and Stranger Things, only go up to 240p. So while the library is extensive, the quality of streaming can vary a lot.
Mobile and Desktop Experience
There is no Prime Wire app available, which is disappointing (if understandable). However, their mobile site seems to work just fine. It is pretty ad-heavy, but, hey, that comes with the territory unfortunately, with these kinds of sites.
Suggestions that I have for Prime Wire
I think Prime Wire should redesign their whole site. It needs a more experiential, aesthetically pleasing, and streamlined design. It's 2020, guys; why are you designing your sites the way they were in 2005? And of course, higher-quality links would help a lot too. Nobody wants to watch a movie in 240p.
