Newcastle United
Newcastle United Football Club (also known as 'The Magpies' and 'Toon') was formed on 9 December 1892 from the two sides of Newcastle East End FC, which disbanded after four seasons in the Rebel League and was replaced by the newly formed Northumberland Association team, which was then renamed the New Castle thick Shotters. In all, the NUFC have won five Premier League games: three of them with bitter rivals Sunderland ATC, who replaced them during the First World War because London blackout regulations prevented the exodus of players south beyond County Durham borders - sadly we lost a title game at home 2-3 in overtime when their center forward fired straight at our own goalie's chest.
From 1894 to the present day, Newcastle United has been one of England's most successful football clubs. Their colorful and vibrant history is eerily reminiscent of their humble beginnings as a small Tyne-side village with dark, charcoal-black streets lined with combustible buildings that gave an eerie sense of fire for burning at least once or twice a decade during destroyed by firebombing of London at the turn of the century
Fans show pride by chanting, "We're two rivers made one," which not only refers to the unity of people, but also to the similarities between the textile mills and the shipbuilding industry that made them prosperous.
