Each year, there are more movies than ever before. It's hard to keep track of every movie that releases because there are always new ones coming out. In 2019, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was in four movies- Jumanji, Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, Fighting with my Family, and Shazam! This shows the volume of films that are being released each year.
Movie databases have been lauded for their usefulness in data consumption. Websites such as MovieWeb provide reliable reviews on movies and TV shows, which has helped make it one of the most popular sites in the United States. Viewers want to read honest reviews before spending their money and time, so this is one of the key benefits of using a movie database.
What is MovieWeb?
MovieWeb is a website that catered to the needs of movie enthusiasts by providing the latest information and news, as well as revisiting movies from the past and previewing upcoming movies.
History
MovieWeb began in 1995, and it was one of the early websites to cover movie content. In 2000, they collaborated with video retail software provider Unique Business Systems Inc. and video rental chain Video Update. Presently, they are distribution partners of Hulu and are also involved in video content production for IMDb.com. Additionally, they run their websites from their offices in LA and New York.MovieWeb has continued to be popular and trusted sources of entertainment content over the years.
Why should you stream on MovieWeb?
If you're a fan of Hollywood entertainment and want to stay up-to-date with all the latest news, then MovieWeb is the perfect platform for you. You'll get instant notifications about all the latest movie plotlines and updates, as well as information about TV news and showbiz happenings. MovieWeb is not just limited to movie news - it offers an overview of everything happening in the world of TV shows and movies.
Movie Trailers
I admit that YouTube is great for watching movie trailers and connecting with the audience, but websites like MovieWeb do a great job of providing a great experience. That's because you can find all the content in one place and don't have to jump channels to find a movie trailer you love. Also, their in-built video player allows you to watch the content on the website itself.
Fantasy Content
The world of movies and tv shows is filled with conspiracies, alternate endings, prophecies, and unexpected events. Readers love to read about the unpredictable plots and build a stronger connection with a series. For instance, a TV show like Game of Thrones before its final season had more than a dozen prophecies regarding who?d survive till the end and how the show would end. Websites like MovieWeb attract users because they use captivating theories which the audience love to read.
Smooth user interface
The website's overall design is smooth. Everything flows smoothly so you won't have a hard time finding the content you want to read. Navigation around the website is fairly simple and you'll face no discrepancies while doing so. Features such as a search bar and well-diversified categories allow you to consume content quickly.
Active Social Presence
Overall, I like the variety of content that is provided by MovieWeb. You can find all the videos you need on their YouTube channel, as well as articles and news that are tailored to different niches. However, if you're interested in more gossip-oriented content, then the website definitely provides the best experience. For breaking news updates, you can follow their Twitter account. But if you want to see amazing pictures and awesome stories, then you should definitely check out their Instagram account!
Design
MovieWeb has a simple color combination of teal grey and white. You'll most commonly find this color combination on premium movies and betting websites. The website in terms of layout is very similar to CinemaBlend which has a long body section.
Header
The header of MovieWeb is simple with a light blue background and white texts. You can find five main options - Movie News, 2020 movies, Movie Trailers, Movie Reviews and TV News at the center. The website's logo is on the left and social media icons are on the right. You can connect with the channel on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. Lastly, you will find a search bar on the right-hand side.
Hero Section
The website follows a news template and as such, there is no dedicated homepage banner. Instead, you will see a banner that represents the hottest scoop of that particular day. At the time of writing, Brad Pitt's take on the Senate and Leonardo Di Caprio's Oscar speech was trending. On the right side, you will find a GDN banner under which you have the trending section. As you scroll down, you?ll find the latest news which at the time of writing was ?Joaquin Phoenix wins his first Oscar for Joker.?
Body
The body section on CinemaBlend is quite long. There are horizontal titles on the left and small thumbnails with headlines on the right. I like the varying approach, which makes the website appear less monotonous and more engaging. Though there are no more color experiments and it's just content-laden, the different arrangement brings a breath of fresh air.
Footer
The footer section on the website has four options - About, Privacy, Terms, and Contact. Above that, you can find social media icons - similar to the ones in the header. Right above the footer, there's yet another GDN banner which I feel doesn't distract or intrude on the user in any way.
Inner Pages
The inner pages on the MovieWeb website follow the homepage pattern. They are minimal and have tiny thumbnails of movie titles. Each category has a summary on a grey backdrop and under that, you can find the list of movies based upon their release date. On the right, you will find a blue pillar section with options such as ?New Movies?, ?Movies This Week?, ?Movies Now Playing?, ?Movies Coming Soon?, ?Popular Movies 2020?. Under that section, you will find top movies recommended by MovieWeb.
Content
MovieWeb is a website filled with content related to movies. They have dedicated sections for different events, such as the Academy Awards. On MovieWeb, you?ll find updated stories every couple of hours. They have exclusive content available on the channel, such as interviews and videos about events.
You can read about blockbuster movies like Joker and critically acclaimed movies such as Parasite, 1917, The Farewell, Midsommar and more. Some of the titles whose extensive coverage you'll be able to find on this platform include Star Wars 9, Marvel Phase 4, Godzilla vs. Kong, Captain Marvel, IT: Chapter Two, Deadpool 2, Batman, Spiderman: Far From Home, James Bond 25, and Terminator Dark Fate.
Each category will have subcategories, like under the sports category you'll find subcategories such as NFL, Basketball, UFC, Odds, Betting, College Football, Soccer, Golf, and WAGs.
Desktop/Mobile experience
You can access MovieWeb from any device. Whether you're on your desktop or smartphone, you'll most likely find a responsive mobile website. I browsed the website from my iPhone XR and Pixel 3a and liked the optimized mobile site. The ads were placed well and there were no discrepancies while navigating the website. I'm not against ads but most of the developers just place it right below the header, which is a red light right away since the user hardly begins his or her on-site experience.
Plans & Pricing
to use it.
MovieWeb is available for free. You don't have to buy any subscriptions, etc. to use it.
Suggestions I have for MovieWeb
Overall, I think the website is great. However, I feel there are always areas for improvement. The developers should definitely look into making the body section more compact and accessible so that the content feels more organized and cohesive.
Conclusion
MovieWeb is a great platform for keeping you hooked. They have a broad coverage of entertainment news, interviews, trailers, teasers, and fantasy predictions. This attracts a lot of users from across the globe. If you love reading about movies and celebrities, MovieWeb is the perfect setup for you.
