Wrong! In fact, these days there are many different types of download managers available. So, if you want to be savvy about downloading files, it?s a good idea to read up on each one before making a decision.
Once upon a time, people struggled to find an easy and fast way to download numerous files at once. That's right, ladies and gentlemen: we're talking about the dark ages when dialup internet ruled the world. It's hard to believe that there ever was such a day- after all, thinking back on that era feels something like trying to recall a bad dream you had as a child. The memory is hazy and very unpleasant. Luckily though, those days are over- thankfully! And nowadays downloading files (as many files as you want) can happen in virtually no time. So then it would be logically sound to assume that download managers would have become a thing of the past right? Wrong! In fact, these days there are many different types of download managers available; so if you want to be savvy about downloading files, it's a good idea to read up on each one before making a decision!
I'm pretty sure that download managers haven't really changed all that much over the years. They're still great for downloading a lot of files from a source quickly and easily.
But there's also the issue of some of these sites using annoying pop-ups to try and get you to sign up for their services.
Anyone who has tried to mass-download files from file-hosting sites such as Rapid Share, Mega, etc., has run into a lot of problems. For example, sometimes they have to go through manually and individually download pieces of the larger file one at a time (man, oh man, have I wasted many an hour doing this!). But there's also the problem of some sites using annoying pop-ups to try and get them to sign up for their services.
There are multiple annoyances with having to go through CAPTCHA tests to prove that you're not a robot. One is that I'm willing to admit, albeit a little bit embarrassingly, that I've failed these tests a number of times; it's getting to the point where I'm beginning to wonder am I a robot?. Whatever the issue may be, downloading large files should be able to be done more easily. There has to be a better way.
Hey, that's where the download managers come in handy. Once you install one of these software onto your computer, your life will improve dramatically. All you have to do is a few clicks and you'll be able to download things without any problems! Whether you're downloading movies, multiple seasons of a TV series, or your favorite musician's discography - using a download manager like J Downloader is definitely the way to go!
In other words, it does all the work for you so that you can focus on other things.
If you're like most people, you probably spend a significant amount of time downloading files from the internet. Whether you're looking for something small to download for your own use or you're trying to grab a large file that has multiple parts, managing these downloads can be time-consuming and confusing. A download manager is a piece of software that streamlines this process by taking care of everything from collecting all the files in a large download to ensuring that everything gets executed properly. So, if you're looking for an easy way to manage your downloads, a download manager might be what you're looking for.
If you download a lot of files from the internet, a download manager can make your life much easier. Plus, it will free up a lot of time that you would have spent going through and manually downloading large files. Let the software do the work for you, that's what I always say. And for almost every problem you encounter online, there is a program to help you save time and energy. Face it, your time is valuable - you shouldn't be wasting it executing monotonous tasks. After all, isn't that what we have robots for anyway?
History
It's surprisingly hard to find any background information on J Downloader through a Google search. J Downloader is widely used enough that I would assume its origins would be well documented by now. Well, on second thought, perhaps this is not quite as surprising as it seems. The program is free and open-sourced, and for some reason, free and open-sourced programs seldom have a lot of information available. I chalk it up to the fact that the creators of open-sourced programs likely do not have much interest in taking credit for it. Otherwise, arguably, they would do so and make it proprietary.
I'm interested in programs like J Downloader, which are free and not concerned with making money or fame. The best ones I know of are the ones that are simply posted online for people to use. That shows that the person who made it had good intentions, because they didn't care as much about making money as they did about providing a helpful program to the world. I have a lot of confidence in J Downloader right from the start, but we'll see if it's actually well executed.
Design
This gives me a bit of a headache. J Downloader looks like it was created in the days of dial-up internet.
I think that J Downloader needs a makeover. Their design is clunky, dated, cluttered, and intimidating. It's so sparse and stripped down that user experience doesn't seem to have been a concern at all for the coders that made it. It almost looks like you will have to learn code before you can use it.
That being said, once you do master the program and get used to it, using it becomes very easy. Just note that there is going to probably be a bit of a learning curve. This is not the kind of program that you will be able to know the ins and outs of immediately upon downloading it. Putting in the time, though, to get acquainted with it will save you a lot of time down the road â so, I would say that even though it is a little cumbersome and tricky to figure out at first, it is well worth it if you are willing to put in the time. Look at it more like an investment of time if that helps to justify it.
Mobile and Desktop Experience
Talking about how J Downloader functions on mobile devices probably wouldn't be very fruitful. And that's simply because there's no app or mobile version of J Downloader available, and there probably aren't many instances in which you would need a download manager on your smartphone. Maybe you could use one on your tablet. But mobile devices, generally speaking, don't have enough file space on them to warrant a need for a download manager.
That being said, it would be nice if we could use J Downloader on our phones or tablets. So maybe an app should be made in order. But the number of people who download files that large on their mobile devices is probably a relatively small enough number to make the development of a J Downloader app unnecessary.
Pricing and Plans
I said before that J Downloader is free to download and open-sourced. This is in my opinion how software should be - free and open-source. I have a lot of respect for J Downloader and free software like it.
Suggestions that I have for J Downloader
I would really appreciate if you could redesign J Downloader so that it is more immersive and intuitive. I don't want to feel like I am opening up Microsoft Excel or something every time I use this software. A redesign is necessary!
Second, if J Downloader could expand to the mobile space that would be great. Aside from those two relatively minor complaints, however, J Downloader is a solid piece of free software that will definitely make your life easier if you are a high-volume downloader!
