Every once in a while, you come across a free streaming site that is so high-quality, so elegantly designed, so full of incredibly high-quality movies and TV series, so features rich and convenient - that it makes you realize all of your hard work and all of the disappointment were worth it. This is the hope that keeps me going; when I find a site like this, the very first thing I want to do is share it with my readers.
Which brings us to Go Movies. So far, I'm really liking it! The site has a really slick design and looks like it has a lot of great content. Plus, it's free which is always nice.
Go Movies is a free streaming site that also offers free TV streaming. But it's not just that. There's another dimension to this site - it appears to be a premium movie and TV streaming site, with upgraded features available through a premium account. What are the benefits of having a premium account? Well, we'll get to that later in the review when we cover pricing and plans.
I will say, however, that sometimes a free movie streaming site that strongly encourages its users to upgrade to a premium membership can be a red flag. I am not saying that this is the case with Go Movies. Of course, there are also plenty of free movie streaming sites that are 100% legit and merely offer a freemium model to lure in viewers with free content before roping them into the perks of a premium membership. Is Go Movies a legit and safe free movie streaming site? Well, we will have to take a closer look and see for ourselves. At this early stage of our review, I am afraid we cannot say for certain yet- it is still too early to tell.
Design
I was really impressed with the site design on Go Movies. This site is really wow-worthy with its amazing design. As I mentioned earlier, free streaming sites can sometimes struggle to provide high-quality site design. This is not the case with Go Movies - their website is truly top-notch.
First of all, the site is incredibly dynamic and responsive, which is something you don't often see even if we are talking about the richest, most widely used premium streaming services in the world. Not even Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime Video offers as experiential and immersive of a site design as Go movies.

At the top of the page, there will be a large banner advertising featured films and TV series. If you are lost for what to watch, this is meant to give you some ideas (all the while showcasing some of the newer and more popular titles that Go Movies is particularly proud to offer). Scroll down a bit though, and be amazed by the massive gallery of movies and shows that you can stream on Go Movies. Whether it is a classic that you have been meaning to watch, or something new and exciting that you have never seen before, we have something for everyone.
I really enjoy the design quirk here which is the fact that when you hover your cursor over a thumbnail, a window will suddenly appear beside your selection on which you can read a summary of the film, some cast info, and also quickly access the title's user rating, release date and IMDb score.
If you want to browse the site by content type, you can access this menu bar all the way up at the top of the page. From here, you can quickly jump to different genres, release dates, countries, last added items, movies and TV series, and more.
Although the site is visually stunning and easy to use, I don't think it would be too cluttered for my taste if it were designed more sparsely. This user experience could be applied to the layout, making the site perfect.
Content and Features
Go Movies has a lot of free movies and TV shows. There are a lot of them - hundreds of thousands of hours, I think. My favorite thing about the site is the browsing filters. You can pick which movies and TV shows you want to see.
Near the top of the page's menu bar is a tab labeled "Filters." Click this, and an expansive checklist expands instantly. You can select options from the following categories: Type, Quality, Release Year, Subtitle Language, Genres, and Countries. Click "Accept," and watch the site transform to reflect your preferences. Streaming sites like Go Movies almost never have such extensive browsing features; more streaming sites should adopt this approach.
Mobile and Desktop Experience
Unfortunately, Go Movies does not have a mobile app. This is unsurprising, really? Most free movie streaming sites are app-less. That being said, the site more than makes up for this by being very well optimized for mobile devices. Considering how cluttered the desktop site is, I am amazed to see that the mobile site is clean, concise, and easy to browse. Once again, this site offers an excellent user experience, if nothing else.
Pricings and Plans
Okay, here's where things get complicated. As I mentioned earlier, Go Movies bills itself as a free movie streaming site with a premium membership option. I haven't signed up for the premium membership yet, so I can't speak to its legitimacy. That said, any free streaming site of this kind is inherently risky so I'd advise you to proceed with caution (my advice any time you're asked to pay for something).
Premium accounts with Go Movies offer more features, such as no ads, HD streaming, and downloading capability. Additionally, they offer additional subtitles and convenience.
