Among both the safe and unsafe websites, there is another category where you can visit or avoid based upon your preference. And that's where Fmovief falls in. I want to trust the website and stream on it, but it looks spammy and doesn't have a lot to offer. Like any streaming service, it does get the basics right but there are a couple of factors that can easily rub you the wrong way. Before we move towards discussing those aspects, let me understand more about the platform in general.
What is Fmovief?
I tried out Fmovief, a free streaming website that offers a large selection of movies and TV shows. It has great content depth and a simple interface, which makes it easy to find content. However, frequent misclicks and redirections make me reconsider using this site. I think it would be worth checking out the benefits and drawbacks of streaming on Fmovief in more detail.
Why should you stream on Fmovief?
Fmovief allows you to stream the movies that are currently popular and classic on its platform. You can stream these movies between 1968-2020 using the archive section. There is also a recommendation section where you can find titles such as Logan, One Under the Sun, Sleepless, Fifty Shades Darker, The Edge of Seventeen, and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
Ad-free Experience
The platform isn't necessarily ad-free, as there is a framework visible on different parts of the website. You can see them in a dark grey background with blue text indicating the size. I assume that the developers intend to sell these spaces to private advertisers. But as of now, they don't seem to have any. So, till the time they find suitors, it's fair to say that the platform is ad-free.
Why shouldn?t you stream on Fmovief?
It's 2020, and the best streaming services out there have toggle options. The most important button is the "quality adjustment" button. Surprisingly, there isn't an option to do so, and thus you have to rely on automatic resolution adjustment which isn't the best. FMOVief lacks stable streaming, and the lack of quality toggling just makes it rigid overall.
Decent Video Streaming
As I mentioned earlier, I'm not a big fan of the video player or streaming capability. The player looks bland and outdated and the streaming itself isn't something to write home about. Apart from the initial loading time, there's a lot of lag and buffering in the initial stages. Now assuming that this is happening at 32MBPS, I'm not sure if an average internet user with a lower speed can even begin streaming on this platform.
Frequent misclicks
I hate to tell you this, but I think it's unsafe to browse this website without an active VPN. That's because regardless of where you are on the site, if you click anywhere except the content, you're redirected to a third-party website. It's really frustrating because not only is it risky, but it also makes you quit on the site and go find another one.
How to access Fmovief?
There are a number of ways to access the website. For example, if you're looking for it on Google, it will likely be the first result. If you want to access the website directly, you can use the link on the left. I also highly recommend using a VPN when accessing this site because of the frequent redirects. Additionally, using a VPN will protect your identity and device.
Design
I find the design on this website to be clean but dated. The light grey background with black text looks clean but it's not 2010. The logo is random, but there's a proper flow of color combination throughout the website, so I don't think it's complete trash.
Header
The header section on the website has a variety of different categories, including Home, Free Shows, Action, Adventure, Animation, Comedy, Crime, Drama, Family, Fantasy, Horror, and Romance.
Hero Section
A designated leaderboard ad space is at the beginning of the hero section. Two sections are on the left: horizontal listings of various titles such as "Lion King," "The Wolf Hour," and "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw." The right side has the following: "Disclaimer" and several more designated ad spaces that are not filled yet.
Body
This website's body section is packed with meat. There's a usual movie listing on the left, and a bunch of sections towards the right. First, you'll find the Archives section allowing you to sort movies based upon their release year. Second, you have a Recommended Movies section that is followed by Hot Movies, and Random Movies. You have more than 10 options under each of these sections. If you're not satisfied with what you have seen here, you can even make use of the search bar to find a specific title.
Footer
I'm not surprised that the website doesn't have any navigation options in the footer section. And thus, trusting the streaming site becomes even tougher as there's no DMCA Notice, Privacy Policy or other useful options to help you navigate the website. Just above the footer section, you'll find various page numbers to manually browse through the content depth and that's all.
Inner Pages
The inner page is simple. There's a search bar at the top which doesn't belong there. When you're already on the streaming page, I don't know why you would need a search bar there? Under that, you'll find an integrated stream player which doesn't have any significant toggle options. Upon scrolling further, you'll find information about the title you're streaming and that's about it.
Content
On the homepage, there are three sections that I like the most: "Recommended Movies?", "Hot Movies?", and "Random Movies." This just based off of these categories can tell us about the quality of content on this platform.
Which movies are recommended by the staff? 'Sleepless', 'Rings', 'Fifty Shades Darker', 'Logan', 'Paterson', 'The Edge of Seventeen', 'Split', 'Miss Sloane', 'A Dog's Purpose'?, and ?Monster Calls?.
Many movies are released each year and some of them are hot. Some of them are "Frozen," "The Wolf of Wall Street," "Lone Survivor," "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," "American Sniper," "We?re the Millers," "Ride Along?" "Thor: The Dark World?""Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa?""Django Unchained?""Fast & Furious 6?""The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug?""Despicable Me 2?""22 Jump Street?""Pitch Perfect?""Transformers: Age of Extinction? American Hustle? Guardians of the Galaxy? Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2? Escape Plan."
What are some random movies you've seen? I've seen "Public Enemies," "Scavengers," "Escape from Planet Earth," "Shepherds and Butchers," "Below Her Mouth," "Riddle," and "The Legend of Hercules."
Desktop/Mobile experience
I streamed Fmovief from my Acer Aspire and my Google Pixel 3a. The mobile streaming experience on those devices was terrible and so I didn't pursue streaming on them. Though the website was responsive, the misclicks made it frustrating to continue any longer. As for the desktop experience, the stream was decent. It wasn't the best as there was constant lag and the stream would buffer after every 5 minutes. Since there wasn't an option to adjust the quality manually, I felt like I was trapped with this website and that wasn't a pleasing streaming experience.
I tried giving this platform another try a couple of days later and had a good time watching Django Unchained. This time, the streaming was much better and the buffering was quite minimal. However, the video quality was undesirable.
Suggestions I have for Fmovief
There's a lot that the developers need to fix on this platform. A lot of that has to do with the website's streaming capabilities. The poor stream player along with unstable streaming leads a user to bounce off the website immediately. Thus, I'd suggest the developers work on these core features other than trying to lure advertisers.
Conclusion
I'm not sure if FMOVief is the best streaming website for you. Even if you're out of options and want a streaming website, I wouldn't recommend it. The streaming feels lackluster and everything else is just ordinary.
