Recently, FanDuel introduced their comprehensive sportsbook. Many people have raved about the brand on Google, most likely from press releases. We've found our own experience to be positive, so today I want to share what we think about their betting side.
At first, I really liked how the sportsbook had been managed separately from the Fantasy website. Both are different verticals and each one of them requires you to create an account to access the website. If you're into DFS, you need an account for it, if you're into sports betting action, you need a separate account.
What is FanDuel?
FanDuel is a company that provides daily fantasy sports coverage and sportsbook services. Within five years since its inception, FanDuel became the second-largest DFS service provider in the US just behind DraftKings. In fact, just seven years into the venture, in 2016, DraftKings and FanDuel decided to merge.
A rocky road towards the merger
The Federal Trade Commission has upheld its reservation regarding the merger, which it sees as a step towards monopoly. In 2017, the merger agreement was terminated. A year later, Irish bookmaker Paddy Power Betfair (a.k.a Flutter Entertainment) acquired FanDuel, merged its operations and started running under the ?FanDuel Group? banner. And that led to the initiation of FanDuel sports betting.
History
In 2009, five people founded FanDuel: Nigel Eccles, Lesley Eccles, Tom Griffiths, Rob Jones, and Chris Stafford. They pivoted from Hubdub, a news prediction site. In 2010, they held the inaugural FanDuel Fantasy Football Championship. FanDuel received $1.2 million in venture capital funding from Scottish Enterprise and Pentech Ventures.
The company grew from strength to strength with an $11 million Series C Funding in 2013, followed by a $70 million Series D Funding.
Why should you stream on FanDuel?
This means there is always something for you to play in.
FanDuel is a popular daily fantasy sports site that has recently branched out into the world of sports betting. If you love fantasy sports, you'll find amazing stuff on FanDuel and tons of ways to make great money. Sure, the prize pool isn't as high as DraftKings but that also means there are less competition, fewer professional players and more recreational players who are looking to win big. The number of tournaments you can join includes NFL, CFB, MLB, PGA, CFB, EPL, and NASCAR. This means there is always something for you to play in!
Sportsbook Promotions
If you're looking for a new sports betting experience, you could check out the Sportsbook. It's only been around for a few months, but they have a few offerings that are worth checking out. For example, Double Your Deposit allows you to basically double the amount you deposit. If you put $200 into the Sportsbook, you'll end up with $400 in your account.
FanDuel is a pretty huge company in the United States. They provide massive fantasy sports coverage like SkyBet and Sky Sports, but you have to be in one of these states to place a bet.
Live Betting
If you don't want to participate in the fun, there's always the possibility of making money by betting on FanDuel. There are plenty of betting markets to choose from once you select a particular title, and you can even place quick bets using the website or an app. Simply type in the wager and get started. People are making fortunes by betting on other players and the live betting environment makes it easy to make informed decisions.
Excellent Payment Facility
FanDuel offers a variety of ways to deposit and withdraw money, including a credit card, debit card, PayPal, and prepaid cards. The app also support the most popular financial institutions such as Capital One, Bank of America, TD Bank, Wells Fargo, Huntington Bank, TD Bank, and Union Bank.
Design
From here you can access live betting, player profiles, and gambles. You?ll want to check out their Odds tab as it has some of the best lines in the industry. If you?re looking for a shady site to gamble with then this isn?t the platform for you. FanDuel is definitely a clean site with great options.
Header
There are four options on the left - Home, Live, Promotions and Casino. The Join Now button is on the right. The header section is fairly simple and occupies 75% of the width while the rest is a dedicated Betslip section. Above the header options, you'll find a customer service callout to help and guide people wanting to bet.
Hero Section
While the Betslip section retains its dominance in the right column, the left column picks up in intensity. You can find the most popular sports here - XFL, CBB, NBA, NHL, and Tennis - with vertical placement followed by all of the sports that are available on bookmakers from A-Z. There are fifteen to choose from here. In the center you have ongoing matches and if you want to switch sports, you can use the column on the left.
Body
The Betslip section is still on the right side and in the body, you can find ongoing fixtures and upcoming fixtures. There's also a small option called "More Wagers" right under fixture details. Clicking on it will let you learn about odds in detail. On the left side, you can find other important links such as Betting Guide, Terms and Conditions, House Rules, Responsible Gambling, and Support.
Footer
The footer section has key content towards the left, with social media icons on the right. There are three columns - About, Help, and More. You can access each of these options to learn something specific about FanDuel.
Inner Pages
I really like the way multi-page websites work. The browsing experience is really easy because you get everything in one place. Once you're on FanDuel's homepage, you'll be able to access everything on that page. The middle section of the website keeps changing, for example if you click on basketball you'll get all the fixtures and odds on the same page.
Content
I wasn't too sure about FanDuel when I first checked out their website. I wasn't sure how well it had been established, but boy was I wrong. Their sports betting skills are incredible. I can't help but compare their service to DFS because that has set the standard for how good this type of betting can be.
There are a vast number of sports to bet on, some of which include Australian Rules, Basketball, Baseball, Boxing, College Basketball, College Football, Cricket, Darts, Football, Golf, Hockey, MMA, Motor Racing, Rugby League and Soccer.
Desktop/Mobile experience
I really enjoy the interface of this website, so much so that for a while I didn't even bother downloading the app.
I browsed FanDuel on my iPhone XR and enjoyed the overall experience. Navigating around the menus was seamless, and I was able to watch live scores and check wagers to stay up-to-date. You can download the FanDuel app for Android and iOS if you don't like using a desktop or mobile website for betting.
Plans & Pricing
Signing up for FanDuel is free, and you don't have to pay a penny to participate in any of the events. Many events offer free registration, so you can get started on your betting journey without spending a dime. When you sign up, you get benefits like double your deposit or a $500 bonus to help you get started quickly.
Suggestions I have for FanDuel
I had a really enjoyable experience on the website. I think there are a few things that could be improved, like increasing their Sportsbook and markets. It's crazy how being in the US, you can only bet from 5-6 locations.
Conclusion
You?ll love the betting options and the wide variety of games you can play.
If you haven't tried Fan Duel yet, you're missing out on a great experience. With an amazing user interface and great benefits, Fan Duel is rightly referred to as the biggest sportsbook in the US. As time passes, it will only get better and more expansive. You'll love the betting options and the wide variety of games you can play.
